Our Core Values

Word Of Life Tabernacle affirms the Bible as the authoritative word of God and with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit; the Holy Bible is the absolute reference point for every aspect of life and ministry. Based upon God’s word, who He God is, and His initiative of salvation, the following values are strongly emphasized at Word Of Life Tabernacle

Worship:
We are called to worship God, both alone and corporately. As stateed in Scriptures, "Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness" Psalm 29:2 (NIV).

Worship is at the heart of all we do at Word of Life Tabernacle. Our primary reason for gathering is to worship God, but we also make and share lasting friendships. We learn the needs of others and find compassion to stand with them to have God meet those needs.

Holiness:
We are called to lead holy and righteous lives that exemplify the nature and character of God. “I am the LORD who brought you up out of Egypt to be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy.” Leviticus 11:45 (NIV)
"Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” 2 Timothy 2:19 (NKJV)

Witnessing:
We are called to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those who do not know him. "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8 (NIV)

Sharing Christ with others is particularly important to any church that seeks true growth since healthy growth comes primarily through new Christians. We shall labor to establish a healthy church that provides its members with a solid foundation through training and opportunities for evangelism.

Prayer:
We are called to engage in intercessory prayer for the people and causes on God’s heart, including standing against evil in every form. The Lord Jesus said, "No one can enter the strong man's house and plunder his property unless he first bind the strong man" (Mark 3:27). "The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds" (2 Corinthians 10:4).

No great work has ever been accomplished for God outside of much time in earnest prayer. Jesus knew this truth. That's why right in the midst of many ministry opportunities He "departed into a solitary place and there prayed" (Mark 1:35). As we come together for times of corporate and earnest prayer it will help even more to establish the believers in the faith as there is great power in the prayer of agreement (Matthew 18:18-20).

Fellowship:
We are called to be committed to the Church in both its local nurturing expression and its missionary expression. In Heb 10:24 we are instructed to not forsake or cease the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms." 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)

Fellowship is communion with other believers in order to encourage one another's walk with the Lord. It is the love of Christ that can unite people from diverse backgrounds and with distinctive personalities so that they are able to call each other "brother" and "sister." "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace." Ephesians 4:2-3 (NIV)

Follow Up:
Follow up is extremely important in evangelism. It seems like it is not practiced much anymore, but the Lord Jesus taught it (Luke 15). In Jeremiah 23 and Ezekiel 34 the Lord condemned the shepherds of their day for not following up on the sheep.

When someone visits our church for the first time, we shall be active to follow up on them by getting their address and contact phone number. We shall write a personalized letter right away to welcome and encourage them. Call them and make sure they get a visit either in their home or meet them where ever possible, etc. If someone misses one or two weeks in a row someone would follow up on them. In Matthew 24:12 Jesus states that “the love of many will grow cold;” Matthew 24:10 “and many will turn away from the faith” and we need to go after them. You never know what people may be going through. They could be discouraged or under attack. Let’s put personal ministry back into the church.

Discipleship:
We are committed to true discipleship. True Discipleship requires a specific strategy to move a new believer from being a babe in Christ to a mature believer. "...So that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." Ephesians 4:12b-13 (NIV)
